Program management differs from project management, design management or construction management, in that the service provided are generally far more comprehensive. Project management includes multiple projects, and will typically include within the scope, design, planning, environmental, project management services, construction management services, procurement services, administrative and financial services and comprehensive project control and information management services. IMS’ program management involvement extends from overseeing the planning and design phases to management of bidding and procurement to full construction management services.

Program management usually requires a number of project managers to execute the program of work. Technical requirements include the full range of professional and technical services provided by IMS and may require additional special technical services through subcontracting. IMS often teams with other firms that are frequently among our major competitors to form an organization that possesses the operational capability and political/marketing strength sufficient to capture and perform such assignments.
